Main events of the week
As expected Maarten Minderhout had a really hard time taking care of his three grandchildren after the death of his son and daughter-in-law.
Not only because he was grieving so much for this terrible loss, but also because twin toddlers are difficult to take care of. Paul and Paula were no exception to other toddlers, so they wanted to be potty trained, to learn to walk and talk and to get snuggled all the time. Maarten Minderhout gave them all that the best he could. Luckily he was able to get the teen boy, Oscar, to lend a hand too.

Maarten decided it was best he didn’t get a job, so he could be home 24/7. This also an excellent opportunity to meet new people. He wanted to make lots of new friends in this new neighborhood. Soon everyone came walking by and stopped for some small talk and some gelatin, Maartens specialty.

One visitor started to come by more often: Andrea Hogan. Apparently she was attracted to this loving grandfather, despite his lack of money. Andrea decided that she could very well take care of her own funds but that she needed a man to father her children and take care of them. Seeing Maarten with his grandchildren convinced her he had to be the father of her children.
It took some time before she had convinced Maarten himself. He was glad the twins had finally grown up to become children and he wasn’t looking forward to more diaper changing and potty training. He couldn’t resist Andrea’s beautiful green eyes though and he soon asked her to move in with him and become his wife.

While his brother and sister could finally take better care of himself and his grandpa was in love, Oscar decided it was time for his first steps on the path of love. Meadow Thayer was the first to try his flirting and kissing techniques on. It all went as planned and soon Oscar shared his first kiss with Meadow.

Oscar is still a greathelp at the Minderhout family. From time to time he helps the twins with their homework, even during the evening if that is necessary.

Maarten was very grateful for Oscars help. He realized that would come in handy because in the meantime Andrea had become pregnant. Although the thought of becoming a father again had given him mixed feelings and strong emotions, he had finally consented to Andrea’s wishes. And with the due date coming he slowly started to look forward to it. This child wouldn’t give him a replacement for his son, but he could love it just as much.

By the time Maartens daughter Quincy was born, he felt very proud. She had Andrea’s skin and she would be a real blond like all Minderhouts. Life was good!
